You’ve landed on our policies page either by accident, or you really wanted to take a peek at the business end of our blog. Balancing The Boones is a blog mostly based on our personal lives, and thus, is a very intimate writing setting where we allow jillions of people access to our online ‘diary’, if you will. Please don’t take ANYTHING we say too seriously… we sure don’t! We don’t know experience the ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do things, only the ways we personally developed our family, businesses, and viewpoints alike.
Anytime we are accepting money or items in exchange for promotion in a blog or social media post, we will disclose this in each post by using #sponsored after, or even perhaps during the post. We may at times direct you to a specific site where the item or service is sold, where we will use the abbreviation ‘c/o’, meaning “courtesy of” and directing you to said specific business or site.
We are extremely safe in collecting and protecting your contact information, and would never share that with anyone else. Anyone who uses our ‘Contact Us’ form, or sends us an email, please note that your information is and will always be private. We value our readers entirely too much to violate your privacy.
Our blog, Balancing The Boones (BTB), is written directly by Nik and Kenzie Boone. We will only back items or services that we have personally tried and believe in. The views and opinions expressed in our blog are purely our own individual thoughts, and though we may joke, claim to be, or appear to be ‘enthusiasts, experts, geniuses, or the alike’, please note that all experience we have with products or services is strictly personal, and that all feelings we have about said product or service is not based solely on endorsements or compensation. If we mention a product or service in general, please note that we do not have to disclose that we are being compensated for the endorsement, and that we do still have a right to feel negatively or positively about any said product or service, with or without compensation. We do not EVER negatively review a product for compensation from competitors.

Facebook/Instagram Ad Disclaimer
BTB uses a tracking pixel to follow which pages or links you access on BalancingTheBoones.com. Accessing certain web pages may result in an ad for Balancing The Boones showing up on your Facebook or Instagram accounts. By accessing this site, you agree to, and accept, the above actions being taken.
We are not located on the dark web, and thus, we do have a very strict comment policy on Balancing the Boones. If you’re disrespectful, you will be banned. So don’t be a cotton-headed ninny muggins!
Also, if your comment doesn’t appear immediately, please note that it may have been flagged for review. There are a number of reasons that can get a comment flagged for reviews, as we ask that you keep this in mind before resubmitting your comment 60,000 times or emailing us with a stick up your heiny.
That being said, here’s some basic guidelines:
Use of any of the curse words and/or slurs we have on our blacklist will automatically flag a comment so it won’t appear on our site. Sometimes these words are used as part of a good discussion, these comments will be approved when appropriate.
Using a Disqus account without a verified email address will automatically flag a comment. Just make one if you have something to say!
Fluctuations in the space time continuum can cause issues for no known reason to us. Sometimes things just get auto-flagged and we don’t know why!
Comments can also be flagged for review by our readership (please do not abuse this option for other users you simply disagree with, it makes our jobs a lot harder).
The following items will get your comment deleted and/or your account banned from commenting indefinitely:
Personal attacks against another commenter or the writers of the post or site. This can run from name calling to sentences which include the words “people like you” or statements which begin “I bet you” or “you must/probably” etc. This is regardless of what “side” you’re on. Be kind to one another.
Jokes or aggressively negative comments on the aesthetic appearance of a person (commenters, writers, and folks mentioned in an article alike).
Hate speech or other clearly intentional jerk behavior. Please use the sense yo momma gave you here.
Hate reading, meaning you come on our site to pick it apart or start fights with writers or readers.
AAAAND last but not least, it is at our discretion to ban anyone whom we determine to be detrimental to the atmosphere of the site we have created. Don’t kill our vibe guys.
Don’t forget, it’s our site, and we get to make the rules. We’re not taking away your freedom of speech, simply turning it away and allowing you to find a more positive outlet for your anger… not associated with our blog. Please remember that conversations must go both ways to be effective and require speaking and listening. Banning a commenter will only prevent you from speaking, not listening—er.. reading. You get it.
